IT'S A GIRL! We are so excited that we are having a little girl. We obviously are just so excited to be pregnant and we just want a healthy baby but I wanted a girl so bad. I was convinced that it was a boy just because I wanted a girl so much that I didn't think it would happen.
We found out early just because I was dying to know. My doctor did an ultra sound at 12 weeks and the next one is not until 20 weeks. But I just didn't want to wait until 20 weeks. I am so impatient and I couldn't wait to start getting the nursery ready. So we found a private ultra sound place that would do it early. We went when I was almost 16 weeks, they can tell at 15 weeks. We didn't know if they would be able to tell because the baby needs to be in a good position and the last ultra sound we had her legs were crossed. But not this time! She was in the perfect position, legs spread wide open! So it was very clear and easy to tell. We had a great experience at this ultra sound place and they made us a dvd of the whole session so I watch it over and over!
We already have her name picked out. We have had our boy and girl named picked out for a while (our boy name I think we picked in high school) so it was pretty easy. I am not going to share her name just yet. I think I will share when it gets a little closer to the end.
I get so nervous between doctor appointments. I just love hearing her heart beat and knowing for sure that she is ok in there. But I love that my belly is getting bigger. I know it is a sign that everything is ok and that she is growing. Non of my jeans or shorts fit me anymore. I have gotten 2 pairs of maternity shorts and my first pair of maternity jeans which I haven't worn yet because I live in dresses. I tried them on and they are a little big but they are so comfortable! I may never wear regular jeans again! Just kidding. But it is a little challenging to go shopping lately and I find myself not loving shopping as much as I used to because I am still in between really wearing maternity clothes and my regular size. So its mainly dresses for now!
Her nursery has officially been started. We moved all of the furniture that was in that room out, picked out paint and it is being painted today! I love everything from Restoration Hardware but OMG it is so expensive. So I have a picture of one of their nurseries that I love that I am going to re create with some less expensive pieces and then some things that I just can't resist from RH. I can't wait to share more about that!
It is crazy how finding out the sex of the baby has just made it feel that much more real! We no longer call her a it or just say the baby. We say her or call her by her name. So to me it has just made it feel really real and special. The connection I feel with her already is crazy and something that I didn't know I could have. We can not wait to meet her! She is truly a miracle baby and we know how special she is going to be. We feel so blessed and thank god everyday for making this dream come true for us. I am so excited for this journey and the next chapter of our lives.
I am so thankful for each and every one of you who reads my blog and comments or emails. I am so lucky and happy that I have been able to share this journey on my blog with all of you. All of your support means so much to me. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world! Sometimes it still doesn't feel real! I really am just so thankful and I feel so blessed!
