Life with two kids under three has been hectic lately, so I have not been able to do many blog posts.  But, we had such a great experience staying at Costa d' Este recently that I had to make some time to share my rave reviews about this gem in Vero Beach.

Matt and I loaded the kids in the car and drove the two hours up to Vero on a Thursday afternoon.   The staff could not have been more accommodating from the moment we arrived.  An offer from the valet to take a family picture of us when we pulled up and champagne at check-in were nice touches.  Our room was very cool and comfortable, with what was pretty obviously a recent modernizing remodeling of the interior.  They gave us two pack'n plays which turned out to really help with the kids' sleeping situations.

Candidly, the room was less important than the lobby-level amenities.  We loved the infinity-style pool, the close proximity of the beach to the pool area, and the "Wave Kitchen and Bar" inside the lobby.

Service by the pool was top notch.  They offer frozen grapes all day, which turned out to be our kids' favorite snack.

The beach area was relaxed, with a handful of cabanas and service available all day.

What turned out to be a serendipitous discovery for us was the restaurant. We ended up eating from the hotel for every single meal and literally were very happy with every meal. Great pancakes and omelettes, delicious cuban sandwiches, lots of fresh fish, and ropa vieja. Creative mojitos and cocktails.  Matt and I probably gained 5 pounds each on this trip.

While we did spend most of our weekend playing with the kids in the pool and the ocean, (and overeating), we also did some cool things in the Vero Beach area that Costa D'Este recommended for us.  One morning we walked to a great park close to the hotel and then strolled around a quaint farmer's market.  And on Saturday night, we drove around the corner from our hotel to the local theatre to see a children's performance of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  Andi and Lincoln only lasted about 30 minutes into the play, but it still turned out to be a fun experience for them.  Oh, I almost forgot: Andi and I also got pedicures in the room while Matt and Lincoln went for a walk.  Andi was scared at first, but ended up loving it.

When it came time to check out on Sunday, we were sad to go.  We really wanted to stay longer.  In fact, we intend to go back next year.  It is not the largest resort, but that is one of the great things about it. Costa d' Este a has an intimate feel with awesome service.  A place where you can get to know the staff and some of the other guests, and have some amazing meals!.  Matt and I would highly recommend Costa d' Este.

Costa d' Este has set up a special offer for my readers! Click here for all the details and to plan your trip!
